He is survived by several family members in Sandersville. Services were held Wednesday, March 24 at James Funeral Home. The Rev. Rabun Horton officiated. Interment followed at Stapleton Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were, James Allen Jones, James Brooks, Jason Newsome, Eldon Enez, Harold Channel, Frank McCullough, Weldon Miller and Greg Godbee. Mr. Brooks served in the army and was a WWII veteran. He was predeceased by his daughter-in-law, Jane M. Brooks. Survivors include two daughters, Diane B. (Mike) Cox of Sandersville; Leanne B. (Rodney) Englett of Wrens; one son, William L. (Cyndi) Brooks of Stapleton; one sister, Edna B. Waller of Sandersville; two grandchildren, Steven L. Brooks and Kristy S. Brooks; and his companion, Gertrude Swan of Wrens. The family suggests that donations may be made to the Guido Evangelistic Association (Guidp Gardens), North Lewis Street, Metter, Ga. 30439 in memory of Lamar L. "Jack" Brooks.
