Statesboro Newspaper
  STATESBORO - Silas F. Brooks, 85, died Friday at Bulloch County Hospital 
after a long illness.
  He was a native of Washington County but had lived in the Eureka Community in 
Bulloch County for 54 years and was a retired farmer and Statesboro merchant. 
He was a member of Bible Baptist Church.
  Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Daisy S. Brooks of Statesboro; two sons, Robert 
Cecil and Charles B. Brooks, both of Savannah: a daughter, Mrs. J. D. Brooks of 
Virginia Beach, Va. : a sister, Mrs. Horace Lord of Sandersville: eight 
grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
  Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Smith-Tillman Mortuary in 
Statesboro with additional graveside services at 2 p.m. in Forest Lawn Memory 
Gardens in Savannah.
