Brooks Died Last Week - Mr. James F. Brooks, one of the oldest citizens of the county, died at his home at Brooks Spring, eight miles west of Sandersville, last Friday, after an illness of several days, at the advanced age of eighty-seven years and was probably the oldest citizen of Washington County. For a number of years he was the owner of the property known as Brooks Spring, but a few years ago he sold it to Mr. W.H. Sheppard who has made considerable improvements by the building of a hotel and cottages, swimming pool and other conveniences. Mr. Brooks reserved a part of the property for his own use and made his home there, as he had great faith in the mineral properties of the water which he had used for many years. He was a good citizen, a member of the Tabernacle Church, and enjoyed the confidence and esteem of all who knew him. He is survived by his aged wife and a number of relatives. The burial took place at Tabernacle cemetery last Saturday.
