(Ike) Doolittle, 76, of Sandersville, who died Thursday Feb 2nd in Memorial Hospital of Washington County were held at 3pm Sunday, Feb. 5th from the chapel of Mayo Funeral Home. The Rev. Dr. A. Cleon Brooks and the Rev. Griffin Thompson officiated. Burial was in Brownwood Cemetery. A lifelong resident of Washington County, Mr. Doolittle was a retired farmer and a member of the Tabernacle Methodist Church. Born Aug. 22, 1890, he was a son of the late W.E. (Booney) Doolittle and Mrs. Alice Snow Doolittle. Survivors include his wife, the former Edna Brantley, of Sandersville; four brothers, Lewsi Doolittle, Fred Doolittle and W.E. Doolittle, all of Sandersville, and Julian Doolittle of Deepstep; six sisters, Mrs. A.L. Giles, Mrs. Jesse O. Tanner, Mrs. Gene Todd, Mrs. Susie Blue, Mrs. James Lacey and Miss Ethel Doolittle, all of Sandersville; several nieces and nephews and other relatives. The nephews served as pallbearers.
