Sandersville Progress
The Sandersville Progress - December 13, 1945 - FORMER RESIDENT DIES IN 
AUGUSTA - Mrs. Asa Lord, a former resident of Washington County passed away 
Sunday in Augusta, where she had been residing with her children for the past 
five years. Mrs. Lord was 73 years old and had been ill for only a short time. 
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon at the Sisters Baptist Church with 
the Rev. Harvey Roughton officiating. Interment was made in the Sandersville 
City Cemetery.
  Surviving Mrs. Lord are four daughters: Mrs. Eulie Joiner, Mrs. Guyton Lord, 
and the Misses Mildred and Alma Lord all of Augusta; three sons: Horace D. Lord 
of Sandersville and Marvin and Oscar Lord of Augusta, besides several nieces 
and nephews and twelve grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Grandsons 
of the deceased act as pallbeares.

Additional Comments:
Mrs. Asa Lord was buried in the Brownwood Cemetery in Sandersville.
