Courier-Herald, October 21, 1943 J.J. LORD IS TO BE LAID TO REST FRIDAY - Jessie Jackson Lord, 81, who died at his home on Dublin route five at 2:00 a.m. this morning, will be buried tomorrow afternoon at Marvin Church after services in the Centenary Methodist Church here at 4:00 p.m. The Revs. Ralph Brown, Anthony Hearn and Edward Carruth will officiate and Adams Funeral Home has charge of arrangements. Mr. Lord had been engaged in farming in Laurens for about 60 years. He was born and reared in Washington County and was a member of the Methodist Church. His wife was the late Mrs. Lizzie Lord, and he is survived by one son, A.J. Lord, Dublin route 5; one daughter, Mrs. J.R. Underwood, Dublin route 2; 19 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. He was ill about six weeks prior to his death. Pallbearers at services tomorrow will be Wade Lord, Paul Lord, J.Y. Lee, Henry Lee Walker, A.L. Slade, and Willie Underwood. Honorary escort: J.R.
