George W. Moat, 89 yrs old Washington Co., GA native, died 1/24/1939 in 
Davisboro, GA. Former proprietor of Jordan Mill, retired farmer. 
Funeral: 1/25/1939 at White Oak Church. Rev. W. B. Taylor, pastor of  
Davisboro Methodist Church officiating. 
Burial: Downs Cemetery
Survivors: 
Wife of nearly 45 yrs, Effie Bridges Moat. Effie and George had 10 children. 
Daughters; Miss Ruby Moat, Miss Ellen Moat, Mrs. William Brown 
Sons; Julian, Mark, G. W. Jr., Harvey, R. L. Moat 
Daughter-in-law; Mrs. Arthur Moat 
Three grandchildren; not named
Pallbearers; Arthur Brown, R. L. Brown, Jr.; W. B. Warthen, A. C. Thigpen, 
Carlos Roberts and H. C. Newsome

My grandmother was Clara Frances Moat English, born July 17, 1903 and died 
April 18, 1937 in Washington Co., GA. Her husband was Roy B. English. Roy and 
Clara's children were named Roy B. English, Jr., Sarah Elizabeth English, and 
Fred Wayne English.
