The Sandersville Progress, Thursday, 3 May, 1894

Mrs. Holt wife of Mr. Thomas Holt, died on Wednesday last aged about 57 years. 
She was the subject of great affliction for many weary months, but bore all 
with christian meekness and patience. She had been a member of the Baptist 
church for about 40 years. The bereaved husband and family in their deep 
sorrow, remember with gratitude the kindness of Mrs. Wm. Watkins and other 
friends in the long illness of Mrs. Holt.

1 May 1894:
Mrs. Thomas Holt passed quietly away on last Wednesday. She left the evidence 
behind that our loss is her eternal gain. She was buried at Mr. Wm. Watkins 
cemetery. Her funeral was attended by a large concourse of friends and 
relatives. Her bereaved husband, Mr. Thos. Holt, desires through you columns to 
thank the community for the many kindnesses extended to him and his family 
during their very sad affliction.
