C. Curry RITES HELD Prominent Laurens Man Had Been Ill Three Years Funeral Services for William C. Curry, prominent resident of the (?) and Bethselda cummunity, were held this afternoon at five o'clock, (?) at the Christian Church, with interment in Northview cemetery. The Rev. Robert S. Bennett conducted the rites, assisted by the Reverends Anthony Hearn and C. E. Vines. Adams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Curry, who was in his 69th year, died Sunday afternoon at a local hospital where he had been under treatment. He had been in failing health for over three years. Born in Washington County, Mr. Curry moved to Laurens County in 1912, and had engaged in farming oeperation ever since. In 1898 he married Miss Mamie Etta Gilbert who survives him. He was a member of the Methodist Church and was active in the affairs of his community until the failure of his health. Besides his widow, Mr. Curry is survived by 10 children, 7 daughters: Mrs. Leo Radford, Rt. 4, Dublin; Mrs. Homer Shepherd and Mrs. J.R Herringdine, Sr., both of Hardwick; Mrs. G. H. Hatfield and Mrs. Alvin Brown of Duglin; Mrs. Robert E. Smith, Jrs. of Atlanta and Miss Erma Curry of Dublin; three sons, Earl, Curtis and Euree, all of Dublin, and 18 grandchildren. Three sisters and one brother also survive: Mrs. Donnie Horton of Wrightsville; Mrs. Mattie Smith of Dublin and Mrs. L.T. Hooks of Rentz, and J.W. Curry of Eastman. Active pallbearers were W. B. Tarpley, Walter Holmes, Carl Flanders, T. B. Hitson, George Brown and George Daniel. An honorary escort was composed of Irwin Montford, Roy Flanders, Joe Dominy, Blanton Joiner, Mace Cannon, O. C. Brown, J. H. Montford, Dallas Stuckey, Frank Daniel, W. R. Hodges, R. L. Rindol, J. Felton Pierce, Roy Orr, W. L. Lake, J. J. Jordan, D. C. Knight, James Scarboro, Adelbert Ellington, R. T.
