Thompson francist@mindspring.com November 18, 2003, 1:29 am December 1878 Mrs. Louisa Smith Died on Sunday night, the 8th inst, Mrs. Louisa Smith wife of Mr. B. R. Smith of Sandersville. For some time past this emtimable lady has been quite a sufferer, but at alength the weary wheels of life stood still, and the worn prisoner was released. She was an acceptable member of the Baptist church, and the large concourse that attended her funeral testify the high place she held in the confidence and affections of the community. Elder T. M. Harris in an impressive manner conducted the solemn services. On Tuesday eve while the bleak winds of December were blowing fiercely, her body was laid to rest in the city cemetery, but her friends are comforted in the belief that he redeemed spirit now rejoices where, "No chilling winds, nor poisonous breath can reach that healthful shore."
