"Hootchie" Prosser, age 69, of 713 S. Main Street, Davisboro, died Saturday, November 12, at Memorial Hospital of Washington County. Services were held Monday, November 14, in the Davisboro Baptist Church with burial in the Davisboro City Cemetery. Rev. James D. Harris and Rev. William E. Brown officiated. Pallbearers were Ed Betzold, Lorick Brooks, Jimmy Childre Jr., Mike McCoy, Richard Warren, Ray Taylor, Jack Taylor Jr. and Jimmy Prosser. Mr. Prosser was a native of Washington County, the son of the late Harvey Benion Prosser and the late Mattie Bell Brooks Prosser. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Davisboro Baptist Church and the Church Brotherhood, Mr. Prosser was a retired lieutenant from the Department of Corrections Unit in Hardwick. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Marinel B. Prosser of Davisboror; a daughter, Mrs. Nell P. English of Sandersville; a son, Buddy Prosser of Gray; two sisters, Mrs. Martha Brown of Homestead, Florida and Mrs. Runette Robinson of Dublin; three brothers, Alton Prosser and Malcolm Prosser both of Sandersville and J.B. Prosser of Davisboro; three grandchildren, Miss Brandy Prosser of Gray, Miss Jennifer English and Jay English both of Sandersville. E.K.
