Sandersville Progress
Guy N. Smith Buried Friday - Funeral services for Guy Newton Smith, age 53, of
Sandersville, were held Friday, Nov. 9, from the Sandersville Baptist Church
with the Rev. Merrill Meadows, pastor of the Sandersville Baptist Church,
officiating.
  Mr. Smith was born in Washington County, the son of the late Joe S. and Etta
Wood Smith. He held the office of county surveyor for 12 years. He was a member
of the Sandersville Baptist Church.
  Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Grace William Smith; one sister, Mrs. Evona Smith
Brantley; one brother, Raymond Smith; two aunts, Mrs. T.W. Forbes of Wadley and
Mrs. Mary B. Hartley of Jacksonville, Fla.
  Also surviving are an uncle, Alonza H. Perry of Galax, Fla., and one neice and
three nephews.
  Pallbearers were W.N. Summerlin, R.O. Bonnell, Sol Pittman, Cecil Stephens,
C.A. Franchinot, and Earnest Jackson.
  Interment was in the Mt. Moriah Churchyard cemetery with Lang's Chapel in
charge of arrangements.
