Sandersville Progress - February 08, 1934
J.J. Tanner Buried Monday Afternoon - Mr. J.J. Tanner, aged 74 years, died at 
his home near Tabernacle last Sunday, his death being attributed to cancer of 
the stomach. He was one of Washington county's oldest citizens and had been 
engaged in farming nearly all of his life. In recent years his health had 
failed and he was an invalid several months before his death.
  He is survived by his wife, several grown children and a large circle of 
other relatives. The funeral services were conducted at Tabernacle church 
Monday afternoon and the burial took place in the church cemetery, the 
Sandersville Undertaking Company in charge.
