Funeral services were held Monday, Oct. 26th at 3p.m. at the Sisters Baptist Church with the pastor Reverend Bill Deakins and Reverend Ernest L. Veal, pastor of Sandersville Methodist Church officiating. Burial was in Washington County Memorial Gardens. A prominent farmer in Washington County, Mr. Wright was a member of the Sisters Baptist Church. A son of the late C.C. Wright and Mrs. Kate Shelton Wright, he was born August 18, 1914 in Washington County. Survivors include his widow, Estella Helton Wright, Sandersville; a son Carl S. Wright Jr., Sandersville; a daughter, Mrs. John Jackson, Tennille Ga.; his mother Mrs. Kate S. Wright, Sandersville; two brothers, Talmadge Wright and C.C. Wright, both of Sandersville; four sisters, Mrs. Morgan Mills, Sandersville, Mrs. Dan Walker, Alto, Mich.; Mrs. G.W. Stephens, Belton, S.C.; Mrs. David Chambers, Columbus, Ga.; three grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers were T.C. Young, Emmett Adams, Burke Metts, H.B. Avant Sr., Raymond Tanner, Everett Trussell. Honorary pallbearers were members of the Mell Tanner Bible Class of Sisters Baptist Church. Mayo Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
