GRAVE OF SILAS O'QUINN AND NANCY CRUMMY O'QUINN. IT IS A DOUBLE HEADSTONE. SILAS O'QUINN BORN ON JULY 24, 1789 AND DIED ON JA., 6, 1880. HE BUILT THE FIRST CHURCH AND SCHOOL HOUSE IN APPLING COUNTY, GEORGIA. THIS IS WHAT IS KNOWN AS THE SILAS O'QUINN CEMETARY, IT IS ON THE LAND THAT WAS OWNED BY THE O'QUINNS AND HAS BEEN IN THE FAMILY SINCE. IT WAS A 420 ACRE FARM. THIS SPOT IS AN IPEN FIELD BEING CLEANED UP, GRAVES WILL SOON BE FENCED IN. O'quinn families used to live here and farm this area.
