Be known that I James Harper, Sr of the County & Sate aforesaid, be my last will and testament do give & bequeath unto my wife - Mary Harper all my estate both real and personally that I may be procest of at my deceas during her lifetime or widowhood - should she marry again then for her to receive a childes portion and the remainder to be divided as hereinafter mentioned. Should she remain a widdow until her death then I wish the property to be divided as follows. After paying all just Clames against the Estate. that (1) Leavina Strickland, (2) Malaceah Harper, (3) Elizabeth Drawdy, (4) Mary Manning, (5) James Harper Jr, (6) Charles Harper, (7) Lovicy Campbell, (8) Nancy E Knight, (9) Joshua Harper and (10) William Harper all receive equal Leegases and that Elizabeth Ann Harper and James Harper, daughter and Son of formerly Rebeckah Harper, of late Rebekah Manning deceased, the portion of one of the above mentioned heirs to be divided equally between them Two. And to James Manning the lawful husband of the late Rebekah Manning one dollar as his potion of my estate all the female heirs to have and to holde ther potion to themselves and this issue. Should any of the above mentioned heirs die without Issue then and in that case their potion of said estate to return bac and become a part of said estate and be equally divided between the remander of the first mentioned ten heirs - And I the said James Harper Sr do leave James C Drawdy and Maleciah Harper my true and lawfull Executors to this my last will testament. I the said James Harper Sr do here uno set my hand & seal this the eight day of January in the year of our lord one thousand eight hundred and forty eight.
