DUNCAN NICHOLSON was born Abt. 1777 in Scotland, and died 19 Dec 1861 in Pike 
Co., AL.  He married MARY BLACKMAN Abt. 1808 in NC.  She was born 23 Jan 1790 
in NC, and died 26 Jun 1864 in Pike Co., AL.

Duncan Nicholson was born in Scotland and came to America and married Mary 
Blackman about 1808 in North Carolina.  It is believed that he came from 
Scorrsbrea Skye, Scotland and came to Cape Fear, North Carolina sometime 
before 1809 possibly with his parents.  (Daniel or Archibald Nicholson born 
before 1755 may be his father).  The ship that transported the Skye emigrants 
was the MIDLOTHIAN under the command of one Cpt. Stewart.  The Nicholson’s 
added the H to their name after leaving Scotland.



Additional Comments:
Duncan and Mary are buried in the old Carter-Dixon Cemetery, Centerpoint Road, 
Webster Co., GA.
