                              Alva Butler
 NECK CITY, Mo.---- Services for Alva Butler, 54, Neck City, who died at 
5:57pm Sunday at Oak Hill Hospital, Joplin, of injuries he suffered in an 
accident earlier in the day at his home, will be at 3:30pm Wednesday at Mason-
Woodard Mortuary, Joplin.
 The Rev. Burton Greenwood will officiate. Burial will be in Ozark Memorial 
Park Cemetery, Joplin.
 Pallbearers will be Alan Routledge, Ralph Borgstede, George Morris, Jim 
Harvey, Virgil Walker, and Gene Smith.
 The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 pm today at the mortuary.
 Mr. Butler was born March 18, 1932 in Wheeler County, Ga. He had lived in the 
Neck City area since 1969 moving from Wilburton, Okla. He was employed as a 
machinist at Sperry Vickers Corp., Joplin, until 1974. He attended Forest Park 
Baptist Church, Joplin. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean War.
 He married Linda Hemby on April 5, 1985, at Joplin. She survives.
 Other survivors include three sons, Dennis Butler, Pittsburg, Kan. and 
Freddie Butler and Bobby Butler, both of Joplin; three daughters, Pam Rohrenck 
and Charlotte Butler, both of Joplin, and Brittney Hoskins of the home; a 
stepdaughter, Wendy Chasten, Neck City; three brothers, Ottis Butler, Macon 
Ga., Marion Butler, Dublin, Ga. and Edsel Butler, Saudi Arabia; two sisters, 
Hortense Edge, Macon and Lulu Screws, Leesburg, Fla.; and 13 grandchildren.

Additional Comments:
Alva was born to William Elijah "Lige" Butler and Joanna "Jan" Rowland Butler.
