(Jim) Carroll williamcarrollj@bellsouth.net March 15, 2009, 5:56 am The Wheeler County Eagle 2-4-1987 Page 10 Mr. Thurman Willis "Speck" Foskey Funeral services for Mr. Thurman Willis "Speck" Foskey, 69, of Glenwood, who passed away after a short illness January 26, 1987 at the Wheeler County Hospital were held Wednesday January 28, 1987 at 3:00PM at the Snowhill Church of God, with Rev. W. R. Connell and Rev. Milton Smith officiating. Interment followed in the Glenwood Cemetery. Having lived most of his life in Wheeler County, Mr. Foskey was a retired farmer and was born January 16, 1918 in Montgomery County, the son of Manning Foskey and Laura Lucinda Williams Foskey. He attended Snowhill Church of God. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Varnell Sims Foskey of Glenwood; three daughters, Mrs. Winnell Padgett, Mrs. Cathern Brown, and Mrs. Betty Jean Yawn, all of Glenwood; three sons, Elmas Foskey, Billy Foskey, and Robert Foskey, all of Glenwood; one sister, Mrs. R. L. Tindol of Wildwood, Florida; two brothers, Louis Foskey and Bud Peacock, both of Glenwood.
