The Wheeler County Eagle 9-12-1947
                    Aged Citizen Passes Saturday
 Mr. G. C. Keene age 92 died at his home near Alamo Staurday after an extended 
illness. He had been an invalid for several years and his death was expected.
 Mr. Keene was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church, but on account of his 
afflictions was unable to attend services for many years though he was a 
devout member and faithful to his church as long as his health would permit.
 Funeral services were conducted at the Condor Baptist Church near Dublin with 
the Pastor Rev. C. E. Vines assisted by his nephew, the Rev. Youthen Keene 
from Cartersville. Interment was in the Condor Church Cemetery.
 Mr. Keene is survived by three sons, A. M and M. H. of Alamo and H. L. of 
Brunswick. His first wife passsed in 1911 and the second wife passed away 
about eight years ago. Several grandchildren and great grandchildren also 
survive.
 Harris and Smith Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

G. C. was born abt Jul 1856 to Green Lee Keen and Elizabeth A. Brantley Keen. 
His first wife was Mary Tyson who is also buried at Bethlehem Baptist Church 
in Laurens County. His second wife, Delina Ann Clemants Keen is buried in 
Clements Cemetery #1 in Wheeler County. NOTE--Cemetery book lists death as 
1948, Georgia death certificate on Ancestry list DOD as 13 Dec 1947 and his 
obituary ran in the newspaper on 9-12-1947 indicating a DOD of 9-6-1947.
