Soldier's Application for Pension State of Florida Lee County On this 15th day of April 1902, personally appeared before me Clerk of the County Court in said county and State, Henry P. Knowles, who being by me duly sworn, declares he is the identical person who enlisted on or about the 8th day of May 1862, in Captain R.H. Moore's Company, county of Floyd, in the state of Georgia and that while in the actual service of in said Company, 65th Regiment, of the State of Georgia on or about the 8th day of May 1865 and was honorably discharged at the 8th day of May 1865 in Wilkes County, State of Georgia "States that he had no injuries" Sworn and Subsribed before me this 15th day of April 1902 W.W. He-dy, Clerk Circuit Court, Lee County H.P. Knowles P.O. Address Captiva, Florida H.P. Knowles stated that he served with Joseph E. Johnson until end of war and was present at the surrender at Washington, Wilkes County, GA Additional Notes: H.P. Knowles was born 8 Nov. 1835 in Fayette GA. Census records show that he lived in Georgia after the war until about 1870 were he then was living in Arkansas. He moved to Florida in 1884. He died 2 Aug. 1922 and is buried in the Fort Myers Cemetery
