         Mrs. Loyd Dies; Rites Saturday

   Funeral services for Mrs. Lizzie Crumley Loyd, 77, will be conducted 
Saturday, July 4 at two o'clock in the afternoon at the graveside in 
Evergreen Memorial Park with the Rev. Herbert Owens and the Rev. Newt Saye 
officiating.
   Mrs. Loyd died Thursday, July 2 at 11:15 p.m. in a local hospital after a 
short illness.  She was a native of White County but had lived in Athens 
35 years, making her home at Route three.
   She was preceded in death by her husband, William J. Loyd.  she was the 
daughter of the late Jake Crumley and Rachel Cason Crumley.  Bernstein 
Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
   She is survived by three daughters, Mrs. W. R. Hale, Mrs. Harold Cofer, 
and Miss Bonnie Loyd, all of Athens; two sons, Felix Loyd and Coleman Loyd, 
both of Athens; one sister, Miss Lou Crumley, Danielsville; six grandchildren; 
five great-grandchildren.
