Will of Joseph Etris 05 Nov 1876 White County, GA State of Georgia White County Joseph Etris Will I Joseph Etris of the State of Georgia and County Of White I Joseph Etris considering the uncertainly of this mortal life and being of sound mind do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner over from following that is to say :I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Rebecca Etris one half interest in my Bay Filley during her life and to my eldest daughter Sarah J. Etris also and half in the same Bay Filley and at the death of my wife, then the whole of said Filley is to be the entire property of Sarah J. Etris and i also do give to my wife during her life my cow and calf are the property of Sarah J. Etris and also one nead muley stear I have have to the benefit of the family in general , And I give and bequeath unto my son Samuel Etris and my daughter Sarah J. Etris my flock of sheep to divide between them selves, And I also give and bequeath to my son Samuel Etris my homeplace where I do now reside containing one hundred and eighty seven acers more or less. Situated in the County White and in the frist district, Originally Habersham but now White County it being the North half of Lot No. 6 Sixty and a portion off of now fourth part It being the North East corner of the Lot # 62 Sixty Two the line is a road leading on the ridge from Lot # 59 fifty nine to the public road leading from Slabtown in the direction of Blaresville and my Wife is to have her support out of the above ---------? Land her life time and Sarah J. Etris to have her support out of the same land during her life and at her death the land belongs to my son Samuel Etris and his Heirs I also give and bequeath to my son William J. Etris all my blacksmith and farming tools for extra services that they may have to me and my wife and daughter and I also give and bequeath to my daughter Nancy Cantrell Five dollars for her portion and she once she has already recieved the same from Wm J. Etris and my Cavender Creek lands. I direct that my Executer do Sell and distr------ the proceers of the same as follows to my Daughter Margaret M. Christy and Barbara A. Nicholson so that they may be made equal with the rest of my heirs that have aready been provided for as recieved from me their share of my estate. And that my Exceutors are also directed to collect Three hundred and fifty $350.00 due me from the sale of my farming land and pay a portion of said money to my son John Etris after reseaving Thirty dollars cash borrowed from me so that he may be also equal with the rest of my heirs, and the balance of said money to be divided amongest all my heirs and also the mineral interest reserved in said lands be also divided all my heirs so they may be all equal an I also give and bequeath my sorrel Horse to my daughter Margaret M. Christy valued by me at Eighty Dollars and my granddaughter I also give and bequeath my bead and beding to be apportioned by Sarah J. And I give and bequeath to my son Wm. J. Etris the place whereon he now lives and also fifty acers more or less and being on the north west corner of Lot# 62 it being in line of twenty acres given me by Wm.J. Etris of the east corner of the above named Lot # 62. And I do also appointed my Beloved Son Samuel Etris and William J. Etris Sole Executors of this my Last Will and Testament. In witness whereof i have here to set my hand and seal this the fifth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and Seventy Six . Joseph Etris The above instrument containing of one sheet of four pages was now here subscribed by Joseph Etris the testatment ---------- of each of us. And was at the same time declared by him to be his Last Will and Testament and we at his request signed our names hereto us attesting witnesses this the Fifth day of November 1876 Test John W.
