Additional Comments:
Gordon Springs School was built around 1920.  It was built because the 
original school, The Acadamy burned sometime around 1918-19.  Gordon Springs 
School was built near Felix Martin farm on Old Ringgold Rd.  This was 1 mile 
north from the original school.  The building was two rooms instead of one.  
Grades 1-4 in one room and grades 5-7 in the other.  Students were sent to the 
Martin farm to use the well for their water, hauling it back to school in 
buckets.  Parents supplied the wood for heaters by the wagon load.
This info and student names was found with a picture of Gordon Springs Schools 
students.  It was hand written.  I do not know who wrote this info but several 
people did identify the students in the picture as the same names written in 
this info.
No teachers names were written in this info but there is an unidentified 
teacher in the picture.  Their were 4 names written in this info that I could 
not transcribe.  Info came from Martin family papers.  Felix Martin was my gg-
grandfather.
