Tuesday morning State Senator Samuel E. Fields, of Whitfield County, started to 
whip his adopted son, Dennis Taylor, aged twenty years.  The boy is of unsound 
mind.  He became highly enraged, ran into the house, got a gun and killed 
Fields.  He was arrested and is now in jail.
