Tributes Of Respect
James A. Maddox was born in Elbert county, Ga., on the 31st day of August, 1815, 
and died at his home in Whitfield county, Ga., on the 28th of August, 1886.  His 
sufferings were long and great, but he was resigned to the will of God, and 
willing to go when called, and said "Death has no terrors." He leaves a wife and 
several children and friends to mourn for him, but they should say, "Lord, they 
will be done." Father, thou art gone to the grave.  We no longer be (sic) hold 
thee, nor ttread life's pathway by thy side.    His Daughter
