Dalton, Ga., -- James Thomas, aged 68, a Confederate veteran, died at his home 
near Pine Grove, Monday, death being due to a severe attack of appendicitis.  
Mr. Thomas was a veteran mail carrier having conveyed the mail from this city 
to Holy Creek for years.  He is survived by a widow and several children.
