The Americus Investment Company has purchased a controlling interest in a large tract of land inside the corporate limits of the town, and a big boom in Abbeville real estate will doubtless be the result. It is probable that the Savannah, Americus and Montgomery depot will be moved from its present location to a point near the junction of the Savannah, Americus and Montgomery, and Atlantic and Western railroads. Abbeville's corporate limits extend one mile in every direction from the court house. Z. T. Lossater of Hawkinsville has come to Abbeville to live. The school here is in a prosperous condition, having about ninety-five pupils. Professor Becker, who teaches music, has twenty-four pupils. Work on the brick yard is progressing, and Abbeville will soon boast some brick buildings along with Cordele.
