After which the church was organized and built under the leadership of Rev. W. M. Williamson, who was the first pastor. The first building, while under construction, was blown down, but was built during 1890. During the pastorate of Rev. J. M. Jackson, a new site was purchased for the location of a new church building. The work was begun on the new church during 1930. A brick building was erected with a large auditorium and several class rooms downstairs and several rooms upstairs. The building was dedicated on August 10, 1946. In January of 1956, a two story brick parsonage was completed on the lot joining the church ground. One of the high points in the life of the church was a revival held during the pastorate of Rev. D. S. Grindles when 76 members were added to the church roll in one year, several of whom are still in the fellowship of the church at this time. At the present time, the church has 115 resident members. In 1942, the church started half-time and in 1950 became a full time church. The following pastors have served the church: Rev. W. M. Williamson resigned Sept. 18, 1909. Rev. J. H. Cowart, Oct. 16, 1909 to Oct. 1911; Dr. Walter M. Lee, Jan. 20, 1912 to Sept. 20, 1913; Rev. D. S. Grindles, Oct. 18, 1913 to Dec. 1918; Rev. J. S. Crosby, Mar. 16, 1919 to Oct. 14, 1922; (Rev. Crosby was ordained to the ministry in Jan. 1919. He is now retired and at present a member of the Pitts Church) Rev. M. F. Reaves, Nov. 18, 1922 to Dec. 17, 1927; Rev. J. M. Jackson, Feb. 18, 1928 to Sept. 18, 1931; Rev. L. B. Strickland, Nov. 19, 1931 to Aug. 1932; Rev. H. F. Jelks, Sept. 18, 1932 to Oct. 20, 1935; Rev. Arthur Hinson, Oct. 27, 1935 to July 17, 1938; Rev. Glenn Morris, Sept. 18, 1938 to May 1940; Rev. H. J. Johnston, Jan. 23, 1940 to July 1941; Rev. John T. Tippett, Aug. 21, 1941 to Nov. 28, 1943; Rev. Charles Evans, Aug. 26, 1945 to June 28, 1946; Rev. Eugene Dailey, June 28, 1946 to Jan. 11, 1948; Rev. H. M. Hawkins, Feb. 8, 1948 to Sept. 1, 1949; Rev. Melvin Wise, Sept. 13, 1949 to Oct. 8, 1952; Rev. Jim Harwell, Oct. 12, 1952 to Dec. 30, 1953; Rev. Gans Ernest, Feb. 3, 1954 to July 30, 1955; Rev. B. Ray Stedham, Oct. 23, 1955 to May 12, 1957; Rev. Charles W. Willis, July 14, 1957. The present deacons of the church are Mr. Roy Titshaw, Edd Wood, Elwyn Titshaw, A. P. Gunter, Tommie Titshaw, Jack Dowdy and Dave King. Officers of the church include Mrs. A. P. Gunter, clerk; Mr. Elwyn Titshaw, treasurer; Mr. A. P. Gunter, Sunday School superintendent; Mrs. Thomas Barnes, W. M. U. president; Mrs. Roy Titshaw, pianist; Mr. Jack Dowdy, minister of music; Mrs. George Turk, B. T. U. director.
