Crisp County News January 18 1940
                     GEORGE W. CARDEN INTERRED WEDNESDAY
     Funeral rites for George W. Carden, 79, year old Wilcox county farmer, were
held Wednesday afternoon from the Pleasant View Baptist Church. Mr. Carden died
Tuesday night at his home near Pitts.
     Mr. Carden was a loyal member of the Pleasant View church where the
services were conducted by the Re. R. L. Harvey, of Vienna. Interment followed
in the church cemetery.
     Survivors are G. M. Carden of Cordele and J. C. Carden of Griffin, sons;
three sisters Mrs. Sallie Pruitt and Mrs Arthur Burton of Atlanta, and Mrs. J.
W. Slaton, of Miami, Fla.; five brothers, Dave Carden, of Culmer, Ala., S, M,
Carden, of Cedartown; N. L. carden and M. V. Carden of Hatley, and J, W, Carden
of Fayetteville.
     Pall bearers were: A. J. Powers, J, M, Carden, T. W. Hollingsworth, E. H.
Carden, J. D. Oglesby, and A. C. Davis.
     Harrison Funeral Home in charge.
