P. Futch J. P. Futch, 71, prominent Rochelle citizen, died Oct. 12 in Ben Hill County Hospital following a brief illness. A native of Wilcox County, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. I. Futch, and was a member of Rochelle Baptist Church. Mr. Futch was a former Justice of the Peace, and was retired F. H. A. administrator for Wilcox County. Survivors include his wife: one son, Norton Futch, Americus; two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Pade and Mrs. Harriette Fenn, both of Macon; two grandchildren; one brother, Raymond Futch, Abbeville; three sisters, Mrs. Alice Cook and Mrs. Irene Coble, both of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Mrs. Julia Hutchinson of Tifton. Funeral services were held at 2:30 last Friday at Rochelle Baptist church with the Rev. Ronald Hinson, the Rev. Fred Carter and the Rev. C. L. Leopard officiating. Pallbearers were Jackie Pearce, W. O. Futch, Rueben [sic] Futch, Carter Maddox, Johnnie Hearn and M. C. Morrison, Jr. Serving as honorary pallbearers were Ernest Braziel, Jr., M. C. Morrison, Sr., M. G. Doster, Jr., R. E. Lee, Tom Cantrell, L. W. Pearce, Sr., Ray Stephens, Jack Owens, John N. King, W. D. Hillis, Matt Estes, C. D. Crummey, Cecil Jones, C. C. Clements, Hardy Owens, Tommie Dix and Leroy Tippins, Jr. Interment was in Morningside Cemetery with Jamerson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
