Charlie Stewart, of Pitts, and the Rev. D. W. Gilmer, of Abbeville officating. Burial was in the church cemetery with the Dorsey Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Singers were Mr. and Mrs. A. L. Hartsfield. Mrs. Gibbs, the widow of Phillip Gibbs, was a native of Wilcox county, a daughter of the late William H. Gibbs and Nancy Mixon Gibbs, and was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist church. Survivors are two sons, W. H. Gibbs, of Abbeville; Lucius Gibbs, of Pitts; four daughters, Mrs. Ealon Henry, of Doublas, Mrs. Annie Satterfield, of Pitts, Mrs. Myrtice Smith, of Syalton; four brothers, W. A. Gibbs, John A. Gibbs, David Gibbs and Frank Gibbs, all of Rochelle; 46 grand children and 32 great grand children. Pall bearers were Ernest Gibbs, Lanier Gibbs, Aaron Gibbs, Marion Gibbs, Dan Knight and Bill Ledford. Additional Comments: Susan Lucinda "Lu" Gibbs was born 27 February 1871. She married Phillip Gibbs, Jr. on 2 October 1889 in Wilcox Co., GA.
