Mr. David Gibbs died at his home last Sunday morning about 7 miles southwest of here, and was buried at Antioch Church of which he was a member on Monday. Mr. Gibbs was 75 years old and was reared in Wilcox County and had lived in the county all his life. He had been in declining health for a number of years but was confined to bed but about one week before he died. Mr. Gibbs was among the oldest and highly esteemed citizens of Wilcox County, and his going leaves just one more less of these old citizens. The funeral was conducted last Monday by his pastor, Rev. Jeff Williamson, after which interment was in the Antioch cemetery. He is survived by two sons: Pleas Gibbs and Jessie Gibbs; three daughters: Mrs. C. C. Holt, Rochelle; Mrs. J. Q. Wilson and mrs. Garrett Vansant, both of Abbeville; one brother, Lam Gibbs of Pitts, and one sister, Miss Jane Gibbs, of Abbeville.
