   A telegram was received in Hawkinsville this (Wednesday) morning announcing 
the death of Rev. J.W. Mashburn, at his home in Rochelle.
   Mr. Mashburn was the father of George D., John F. and Tharp Mashburn,  of 
Hawkinsville.  He was aged 69 years.

Compiler Notes:  Rev. James Washington Mashburn was born 23 Nov 1823 in 
Washington County., Georgia and died at his home in Rochelle., Wilcox County., 
Georgia 30 Nov 1892.
  He married Nancy Reid 1854 in Dooly County., Georgia .  She was born 6 Jun 
1829 in Wilcox County.,  Georgia and died 21 Apr 1895 in Wilcox County., 
Georgia.
   Both are buried in the Mashburn Lot at Morningside Cemetery., Rochelle., 
Wilcox County., Georgia.
   Rev. Mashburn’s  father was Daniel Thomas Mashburn who in 1835 help build 
and organize Harmony Baptist Church in Dooly County., Georgia..  He was the 
1st member to be baptized into this church.  Thirteen years later in 1848 he 
died and was buried there with his wife in a unmarked grave.   Ref: Joiner,
