W. Mashburn was born June 6, 1829, and died April 21, 1895, at the home of her son-in-law, Mr. Tom Hanley, five miles from Rochelle. She was married to John W. Willcox, September 13, 1846, who lived a few years, leaving her with four small children. She was married to Rev. J. W. Mashburn September 12, 1854, who died in November, 1882. They lived very happily together thirty-eight years; God blessed their union with eight children, seven of whom are still living, her daughter, Mrs Hanley, having died just one week previous to her death. She was sick only a few days but endured her affliction patiently and submissively as only a child of God can. She had been a consistent member of the Baptist church for many years. Even in old age and weakness she filled her place at prayer meeting and Sunday School, and her presence was an inspiration to her pasor and fellow Christians. Her seat was never vacant without a cause. She joined the Ladies' Missionary and Aid Society some months ago, and made a devoted member until her death. In her death the church and society loses a faithful member, the children a devoted mother and the community a great friend. We can only bow in humble submission to the will of Him who doeth all things well, and rejoice in the precious thought of meeting her again in the Christians' home in glory. While the home is darkened by her death, yet her love ones do not mourn as those who have no hope, but they expect to meet her again "Oh how sweet it will be in that beautiful land So free from all sorrow and pain With songs on our lips and harps in our hands, To meet one another again." Ladies Missionary and Aid Society, Rochelle, Georgia. Reference: 5-51 Additional Comments: Compiler Notes: Rev.
