D. MOORE HELD AT FRIENDSHIP One of Wilcox County's Most Highly Respected Citizens Passes at His Home in Pineview In spite of the care of three physicians and the tender care of wife and children, Mr. Dave Moore peacefully passed away early Thursday morning, October 24, following an attack of pnuemonia. Mr. Moore was born in Pulaski County, October 22, 1858, and died just two days after reaching his 77th birthday. His parents died when he was an infant. Some 55 years ago he was married to Miss Datie Adams, and by industry and perseverance they reared a large family, and provided a comfortable home and advantages beyond the average. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church at Hawkinsville. He was a Christian of the highest integrity. His ideals of church membership wase high--ideals that were maintained, thereby becoming a fine example of the life a Christian should lead. When so many claimed that Saturday's duties were too heavy to permit of attending services on that day, Mr. Moore was never too busy, and was always found in his accustomed place. He had the appreciation of schools, churches, and all organizations and movements that tended toward the uplift of his community. In addition to these outward manifestations of his personality, there was a finer inner nature known best to his more intimate friends and to his family.. His interest in youth, his love for nature, his modesty, are expressions of a real Christian gentleman. People in all walks of life will miss his warm handclasp or cordial greetings. He practiced the beautiful little poem: "There is so much good in the worst of us, so much bad in the best of us. That it doesn't behoove any of us to talk about the rest of us."
