J. R. Roe
     Mr. J. R. Roe died at his home in Irwin County Wednesday night.  Mr. Rose 
[sic] had been in bad health for about two years and had been confined to his 
room for six months.
     Mr. Roe was sixty-eight years of age and had lived in Wilcox County about 
all of his life.  He leaves besides his wife, one son, Fisher Roe, and four 
daughters, Mrs. O. L. Baldwin, of Wilcox County, Mrs. Dave Lewis of 
Reidsville, mrs. Chas. McDuffie and Mrs. Roscoe Mays of Irwin county, and mrs. 
Alice Thompson of South Carolina.
     The funeral was conducted at the grave by Rev. J. W. Waters, of 
Fitzgerald, after the funeral the body was laid to rest in the Mitchell 
cemetery one mile north of Abbeville.
