Ryals Dies On Sunday Night ---------------------- PROMINENT WILCOX COUNTY CITIZEN PASSES SUDDENLY AT HIS HOME. ---------------------- Mr. David J. Ryals, aged seventy-seven, prominent citizen of Wilcox county passed suddenly in death Sunday night at his home in Abbeville. Mr. Ryals had been in failing health for sometime, but seemed as well asusual up to a few hours before his death. Mr. Ryals was born in Colquit county on May 16th, 1856, but had been a resident of Abbeville for a number of years, having reared his family there. For probably the last twenty-fivers, he has been owner and general manager of the Abbeville Hotel, and was was held in highest esteem by all who knew him. Besides his wife, who was before her marriage, Miss Caroline Studstill, six children survive; S. L. Ryals and J. D Ryals, of Cordele; Mrs. J. M. Clements, of Cordele; Mrs. R. H. Johnson and Mrs. J. M. Bleckley, of Abbeville, and Mrs. H. S. Maloy, of Milan. Several grandchildren also survive. Fneral services were held in Abbeville at nine-thirty Tuesday morning conducted by the pastor of the deceased, Rev. Jason Shirah, of the Methodist church, after which the remains were brought to Cordele for interment in Sunnyside. The pallbearers were Messrs. J. C. King, Reid Cochran, Warren Walker, S. G. Carswell, C. C. Fulghum and O. L. Smith. Sincere sympathy is extended the bereved ones by their host of friends, Cordele Dispatch. Additional Comments: David J. Ryals was buried in the Old Section of Sunnyside Cemetery. He is buried in Grave #4, Block #9, Lot 53. His grave and other members of his family are buried there. Near Alaska Lane.
