Mildred Gibbs Spears -BYRON - Mildred Gibbs Spears, 87, died Sunday, September 
24, 2006. Services will be 2P.M., Wednesday, September 27, 2006 at Byron 
Baptist Church with Dr. Lawrence Kirk officiating. Burial will follow in Glen 
Haven Memorial Gardens. -Born in Abbeville to the late Henry E. and Carrie 
Maude Stanley Gibbs, Mrs. Spears was retired from KMart, and after retirement, 
she worked as a food demonstrator for several years. She was a member of Byron 
Baptist Church. -Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Walter Leon Spears 
of Byron; children, Jack Fitzgerald (Martha) of Stockbridge, David Gunn 
(Sandy) of Jackson, Sandy Spears of Macon, Lynn Tam (John) of Powder Springs, 
Judy Osterloh (Gus) of Fort Walton, Beach, FL and Lisa Dawson (Sam) of Byron; 
eleven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren. -She was preceded in death 
by her brothers and sister, Milton Gibbs, Clifford Gibbs, Billy Gibbs and 
Marie Futch. -Donations may be made to Byron Baptist Church, 100 White Road, 
Byron, GA 31008. -The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. 
Tuesday, September 26, 2006 at Rooks Funeral Home in Byron. The family may be 
contacted at the residence, 101 Old Oak Road in Byron. -Rooks Funeral Home in 
Byron has charge of arrangements.

Frances Mildred Gibbs was born 1 June 1919 in Wilcox Co., GA.  Before moving 
to Byron, Walter and Mildred lived for many years in Macon, Bibb Co., GA.
