Copied at the Wilkes County Courthouse in Washington, Georgia, September 2006, transcribed by Marshall Styles: Georgia} Wilkes County} Know all men by these presents that I Sarah Colley of the County and State aforesaid for and in consideration of the love and affection which I have for Welcome Fanning of the same County and State do freely give to the said Welcome Fanning and his heirs the named negro slaves (viz): Mary a woman and her two children Rose and Jenny which said negro slaves I do by these presents warrant and forever defend to the said Welcome Fanning and his heirs against me & my heirs and all person or persons whatsoever to this and their own proper use Benefit & Behoof In Witness whereof the said Sarah Colley has hereunto set my hand and seal this 4th day of November 1828 Sarah Colley {Seal} Signed & acknowledged in the presence of James D.
