This Indenture made the fifteenth day of February in the year of our Lord one 
thousand eight hundred and twenty one and in the     year of the independence 
of the united States of America between William G. Gilbert of the County and 
state aforesaid of the one part, and William Dearing of the County & state 
aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said William G. Gilbert for 
and in consideration of the sum of three hundred & seventy five dollars lawful 
money of the said state to him in hand well & truly paid by the said William 
Dearing at or before the sealing & delivery of these presents, the receipt 
whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted, bargained, sold released and 
confirmed, and by these presents doth grant, bargain, sell and confirm to the 
said William Dearing and his heirs and assigns all that lot of land in the 
Town of Washington on the North East corner, of lott number 24 to contain 
twenty feet on the front of main Street and fifty feet fronting Jefferson 
Street, Together with all and singular the rights, members and appurtenances 
thereof whatsoever to the said lott of land being belonging, or in any wise 
appertaining, and the remainders reversions, rents, issues, & profits thereof, 
and of every part thereof To Have & to Hold the said lott of land, and all & 
singular, the premises and appurtenances thereunto belonging, as aforesaid, 
and every part thereof unto the said William Dearing and his heirs and assigns 
to the only proper use, benefit and behoof of the said William Dearing and his 
heirs and assigns forever. And the said William G. Gilbert & his heirs the 
lott of Land, and premises aforesaid and every part therefore unto the said 
William Dearing and his heirs and assigns against him the said William J. 
Gilbert and his heirs, and all & every other person & persons whatsoever shall 
& will Warrant & forever defend by these presents. In Witness whereof the said 
William G. Gilbert, hath hereunto set his hand and seal the day and year first 
above written.
