This Indenture made the second day of July in the year of our Lord one 
thousand eight hundred and eighty six between The Most Reverend William H 
Gross now Archbishop of Oregon City and lately Bishop of Savannah in the state 
of Georgia of the first part and the Right Reverend Thomas A Becker of 
Savannah aforesaid of the second part. Whereas the said most Reverend William 
H Gross Archbishop as aforesaid is desirous of granting and ass____y with the 
said Right Reverend Thomas A Becker Bishop as aforesaid all the Real Estate 
Lands Tenements and Hereditaments and all property and effects whatsoever and 
wheresoever situated in the state of Georgia vested in him the said Most 
Reverend William H. Gross as in which he has any estate or interest at law as 
in equity and whether held in absolute fee simple or in Trust for any 
congregation or charitable use and howsoever derived whether by Deed, Will, 
Gift, Devise, bequest or by operation of any law of the state of Georgia or 
otherwise howsoever
Now this Indenture Witnesseth that the said most Reverend William H Gross 
Archbishop as aforesaid in consideration of the premises and further in 
consideration of the sum of one Dollar lawful money of the United States of 
America with him paid by the Right Reverend Thomas A Becker aforesaid at the 
time of the execution hereof the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath 
granted bargained sold released and confirmed assigned transferred and set 
over and by these presents as well as in pursuance and exercise of all and 
every Trust Power and authority in him in any wise vested and in this behalf 
enabling as in his own right, doth, grant, bargain sell release and confirm 
assign transfer & set void unto the said Right Reverend Thomas A Becker Bishop 
as aforesaid, his heirs, executors administrators, successor, successors and 
assigns, all the estate, right, title, interest and property of him the said 
most Reverend William H Gross of in and to all and singular the Real Estate, 
Lands Tenements & hereditaments and all property and effects whatsoever and 
wheresoever situate in the said state of Georgia and all the estate and 
interest of him the said most Reverend William H Gross in and to all & 
counties of whatsoever nature or kind in which the same may be invested and 
all policies of Insurance in any wise valuing to property situated in the said 
state of Georgia
   Together with the rights _______ easements and appurtenances thereto 
belonging as in any wise appertaining. To Have and to hold ____ and take all 
and singular the hereditaments and premises hereby granted and assigned as 
intended so to be with the rights ____ and appurtenances unto the said Right 
Reverend Thomas A Becker his heirs, executors, administrators, successor or 
successors and assigns to and for the only proper use & behoof of the said 
Right Reverend Thomas A Becker his heirs Executors Administrators successor 
successors and assigns forever In Trust nevertheless and to for and under the 
several uses interests and purposes following that is to say In Trust to and 
for and upon all and singular the same uses & trusts and with the same and 
like powers upon which the said property and effects have been held by the 
said Most Reverend William H Gross immediately before the execution hereof and 
to and for no other use or purposes whatsoever. In Witness whereof the said 
party grantor hereunto sets his hands and seal the day & year at first 
heretofore written

State of Maryland, Baltimore City Set on the second day of July 1886 
personally came before me Murry Hanson a commissioner of Deeds for the State 
of Georgia duly qualified, residing in Baltimore City State of Maryland The 
Most Reverend William H. Gross party to this Indenture & known to me 
personally to be such & acknowledged the same to be his act and deed. In 
testimony whereof I have hereto affixed my hand and official seal the day & 
year aforesaid
