Deed, Robert Hamilton to Garrett Oglesby 11 Jan 1832 Wilkes County, GA WILKES COUNTY, GEORGIA, DEED BOOK LLL, p. 383 Know all men, by these presents, that I, Robert Hamilton, in consideration of the sum of five hundred dollars to me in hand paid by Garrett Oglesby of Wilkes County and State aforesaid, the receipt I do hereby acknowledge, hath bargained, sold and quit claimed and, by these presents, do bargain, sell and quit claim unto the said Garrett Oglesby and his heirs and assigns forever all my right, title, interest, estate and demand, both at law and in equity, of and to all that lot or parcel of land, the contents of which are not estimated, lying in the County of Wilkes on the waters of Newford Creek, it being part of two tracts of land originally granted, the one to Frances Baldwin and the other to Holman Freeman, each together estimated to be 600 acres. Bounded as follows, beginning on a red oak corner on James Hinton's line east of Newford Creek near the upper corner of (the) south side of said Oglesby's mill field, running thence S85W, 7.50 ch. to the head of Spring Branch; thence, down the meanders of said branch to Oglesby's mill pond; thence, up to the high water mark; thence, across said pond where the fence crosses the stillhouse branch, including all the mill pond together with the land the said pond and branch may overflow; thence, with the fence nearly north to the mill road; thence, with mill road to the Greensboro Road east to Buckner's land; thence, bound by his land all around the east side to the said James Hinton's line and with his line to the beginning red oak corner, with all and singular the appurtenances thereto belonging or in any wise appurtaining.
