Witnesseth that the said [William Huck]aby and Elizabeth his wife for and in Consideration of [the sum of ????] hundred pounds Sterling lawfull money of the said State [to him in hand] paid by the said John Cain at or before the sealing and de[livery of these pre]sents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath granted [missing] Released and Confirmed and by these Presents doth grant [missing] Release & Confirm unto the said John Cain his heirs and assigns [a certain tract] or parcel of Land Containing two hundred & fifty acres situate [lying & being in] the County of Wilkes and State aforesaid on the waters of Long Cr [eek bounded] on all sides by vacant land having such form marks & shape [missing] thereof to a grant of the same granted to Richard Whatley & signed [by his] honor the Governor John Houston the 30th day of September [in the year] of our Lord 1784 Begining at a Corner Black Gum [missing] chains to a Corner Hickory thence S.85W. 41.50 to a corner [missing] N.?5W. 60 Chains to a Corner Hickory Thence N.85E 41[missing] togather with all and Singular the Rights Members [& appurtenances] thereof Whatsoever to the said tract of land being belong[ing or in any w]ise appurtaining & the Remainders Reversions Rents Is[sues] thereof & of every Part thereof. To have and to hold the said tract [and all] and singular the premises & appurtenances thereunto bel[onging as afo]resaid and every part thereof unto the said John Cain his [heirs & assigns to] the only proper use benefit & behoof of the said John Cain [for] ever. And the said William Huckabay & Elizabeth his [wife and he]irs the said tract of land and premises aforesaid and every [missing] John Cain his heirs and assigns against them the [said William Huck]abay and Elizabeth his wife and their heirs & all & ev[ery other] persons whatsoever shall & will warrant & forever defe[nd.
