Copied at the Wilkes County Courthouse in Washington, Georgia, September 2006, transcribed by Marshall Styles: Georgia} Wilkes County} This indenture made this fifth day of October in the Year of Our Lord Eighteen hundred and forty eight between Richard W. Joyner of the County and State aforesaid of the one part and John Colley of the same place of the other part & Witnesseth that the said Richard W. Joyner for & in consideration of the Sum of two thousand one hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the said John Colley, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged has granted and sold and conveyed and doth by these presents has granted bargained and sold unto the said John Colley his heirs & assigns all that tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the County aforesaid on the waters of Fishing Creek containing six hundred and sixty two acres more, adjoining the lands of F.G. Wingfield, Samuel Rhodes, Nancy Anthony, _?_ Colby and E. Bailey, being the same tract of land sold to the said Richard W. Joyner by Alexander Pope, dec’d of aforesaid county, except nine acres of which the said Joyner sold to Samuel Rhodes, and including seven acres on _?_ Fork which the said Joyner bought of said Rhodes. To have and to hold the aforesaid described tract of land unto the said John Colley his heirs & assigns, together with all and singular the rights, members & appurtenances to the said tract of land in any wise appertaining to his & their own proper use benefit and behoof forever in fee simple and the said Richard W. Joyner for himself his heirs Executors and administrators the said bargained premises together with the right title & possession thereof unto the said James M. Dyson his heirs & assigns will warrant & forever defend the right title thereof against himself & against the claim of all other persons whatsoever. In testimony whereof the said Richard W.
