Indenture bet John Landrum & Thomas Oglesby 08 Nov 1839 Wilkes Co, GA WILKES COUNTY, GEORGIA, DEED BOOK OOO, p. 80 This indenture made this eighth day of November in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty-nine between John Landrum of the one part and Thomas I. Oglesby of the other part both of the County and State aforesaid. Witnesseth that the said John Landrum, for and in consideration of the sum of seven hundred and thirteen dollars to him in hand paid by the said Thomas I. Oglesby, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, sold and conveyed and, by these presents, do grant, bargain, sell and convey unto the said Thomas I., his heirs and assigns forever, all that tract or parcel of land situated, lying and being in the County and State aforesaid on the waters of Broad River containing one hundred and sixty-three acres, more or less, described as follows: Beginning at a pine corner on the east side of Muckles Ferry Road running S, 29 c. to stake; and thence S85E, 39 c. to r. o.; and thence N, 11.39 to a pine stump; thence E, 21. to p. o.; thence, N, 21 c. to stake; thence, W, 60 c. to beginning pine corner. To have and to hold the said parcel or tract of land with the exception of the meetinghouse lot and half acre for graveyard unto the said Thomas I., his heirs and assigns forever, together with all and singular the rights, members and appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the said John Landrum, for himself, his heirs and assigns, do warrant and defend the right and title of said tract of land against the claim of himself, his heirs and assigns, and against the claim of all persons whatsoever.
