Lane and Simean Hester Trading in the name and firm of Lane & Hester of the town of Washington and county and state aforesaid of the one part [Witnesseth is struck through] and Phebe Stinson of the same county and state of the other part Witnesseth that the said Lane and Hester for and in consideration of the sum of Seventeen Hundred and Twenty five Dollars to them in hand paid at and before the Sealing and delivery of these Presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged hath Granted Bargained Sold and Conveyed and do by these Presents Grant Bargain Sell and Convey unto the said Phebe Stinson her heirs and assigns all that tract of Land Situate lying and being in the county aforesaid on Fishing Creek containing Six hundred & Seventy Eight acres more or less adjoining Micajah T Anthony [transcriber is pretty sure that middle initial is a “T”] the said Phebe Stinson and Others __ing The whole of those two tracts of Land recently sold by Benjimin (sic) Slack to the said Lane and Hester which will more fully appear by reference to a Deed made by said Slack to Lane and Hester dated 13th day of April 1833 To have and to hold said bargained premises to the said Phebe Stinson her heirs and assigns to their own proper use Benefit and behoof forever and the said Lane and Hester for themselves their heirs executors and administrators the said Bargained premises unto the said Phebe Stinson will warrant and forever defend against the claim of themselves their heirs and assigns and against the claims of all other persons whatsoever In Witness whereof the said Mark A. Lane & Simian Hester Trading in the firm of Lane & Hester have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year above written Signed Sealed and Delivered Mark A.
