Witnesseth that the said Merium Lincicum for and in consideration of the first sum of fifty pounds sterling money to her in hand paid before the sealing and delivering of these presents the receipt whereof I do hereby acknowledge and hath granted bargained and sold & by these presents do grant bargain and sell alien enfeoff and confirm unto the said Richard Childress his heirs and assigns forever one certain tract or parcel of land situate lying and being in the county of Wilkes Powels Creek containing by estimation two hundred acres be the same more or less & bounded as followeth (viz) beginning corner black gum Micajah Williamsons line thence northwardly to a post oak thence northwestwardly to red oak thence southwestwardly to a red oak southeastwardly to the beginning to have and to hold the said land with all & singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging to him the said Richard Childress his heirs and assigns forever in absolute and indefeasible fee simple and the said Merium Lincicum on her part the said land above conveyed Every part and parcel thereof to him the said Richard Childress his heirs and assigns forever against Merium Lincicum and her heirs & assigns all and every other person or persons whatsoever shall and will warrant and forever defend by these presents. In witness whereof the said Merium Lincicum hereunto set her hand & affixed her seal the day and year above written. Signed sealed and delivered in presence of Thos. Anslee, J.P.
