Indenture bet George Oglesby & Jesse Norman 11 Jan 1836 Wilkes Co, GA WILKES COUNTY, GEORGIA, DEED BOOK NNN, p. 177 This indenture made this 11th day of January, 1836, between George S. Oglesby of the State and County aforesaid of the one part and Jesse Norman of the same place this (sic) other. Witnesseth that the said George S. Oglesby has this day, for and in consideration of the sum of four hundred dollars to him in hand paid by the said Jesse Norman, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, bargained, sold and granted and doth, by these presents, bargain, sell and grant unto the said Jesse Norman all that tract or parcel of land lying in Wilkes County on the waters of Pistol Creek known as the land whereon Garrett Oglesby formerly lived adjoining lands (of) William Baird, Senior, and George ______ and others bounded as follows: Viz., beginning at the Greensboro Road near a post oak corner running thence to said corner; thence, N30W, 21 chains, 10 links to a stake corner; thence, S85W, 62 chains to a stake originally a black oak corner; thence, S8E, 42 chains to a post oak corner; thence, S37E, to the Greensboro Road; thence, down said road to the beginning corner, the said tract or parcel of land containing two hundred and twenty-five acres, more or less. The said to have and to hold the said bargained premises together with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging. And the said Oglesby, for himself, heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, the said tract or parcel of land, together with all its rights, members and appurtenances, will warrant and defend against the claim of all other persons whatsoever unto the said Jesse Norman, his heirs and assigns, forever.
