Indenture bet George Oglesby & Joseph Dunnaway 03 Apr 1832 Wilkes Co, GA WILKES COUNTY, GEORGIA, DEED BOOK LLL, p. 473 This indenture made this 3rd day of April in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty-two between George S. Oglesby of Wilkes County and State of Georgia of the one part and Joseph Dunnaway of the County and State aforesaid of the other part. Witnesseth that the said George S. Oglesby, for and in consideration of the sum of three hundred and eighty-two daollars and twenty-five cents to him in hand paid at and before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged, hath granted, bargained, sold, transferred and conveyed and, by these presents, doth grant, bargain, sell, transfer and convey unto the said Joseph Dunnaway, his heirs and assigns forever, a certain tract or parcel of land situate(d), lying and being in the County aforesaid on the waters of Newford Creek being part of a tract of land purchased by John and Benjamin Slack from Francis McClendon, administrator of Lewis McClendon, and conveyed by the said Slacks to Joseph H. Burks and by the said Burks to said Oglesby. Beginning at a poplar on a small branch and running thence S45W, 6.10 ch. to a stake on Slack's line; thence, N69-1/2W, 16.10 ch. to a large pine a corner of Slack's land; thence, N40W, 42.60 ch. to a stake on the meetinghouse branch; thence, S18E, 16.60 ch. to a hickory; thence, S18E, 21 ch. to a stake; then, N45E, 18.80 ch. to a hazel bush on the first mentioned branch; thence up said branch as it meanders to the beginning poplar, containing sixty and three quarters acres, more or less, all of which will more fully appear by a plat hereunto annexed. To have and to hold the land and premises herein described unto the said Joseph Dunnaway, his heirs and assigns, together with all and singualr the buildings and improvements and every of the appurtenances thereunto belonging, or in any wise appurtaining to the same, and the said George S. Oglesby doth, by these presents, warrant and defend forever the same in fee simple unto the said Joseph Dunnaway, his heirs and assigns, against himself, his heirs and assigns, and every other person or persons lawfully claiming the same. In witness whereof the said George S. Oglesby hath hereunto subscribed his name, affixed his seal the day and year first herein written. (The word "forever" interlined before signing.)
